6th, 7th & 8th GRADE: Multiplying Fractions

When multiplying fractions, there are two ways you could do them.

1. Multiply both of the numerators then multiply both of the denominators, finally simplify if possible.

2. The second way is :  simplify before we multiply. When you have both fractions see if you can reduce them first before multiplying them. You could simplify vertically or across. Then multiply the reduced fractions.  Check this video to see an example.
